To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we’re reflecting on our passions, our purpose, our progress and, of course, our people… and that includes YOU! Growth isn’t just measured in numbers, but in taking the time to celebrate how we got here. Since the beginning we’ve challenged ourselves and our clients to never stop believing in our values and our purpose.
We believe these four pillars of growth have been the key ingredients to our success and will continue to pave the way for a radiant future.

Like anything worthwhile, this hasn’t been without struggle or sacrifice. We had to break through walls to get here, but we did it with the support of our allies, partners and friends — our chosen family. We’re diverse in our backgrounds, but we’re united in our love, gratitude and commitment. Together, we’re agents of change.

I met Robyn years ago through work and was immediately drawn to her mission. We began talking personally about inclusion, mission and being a part of a bigger tribe. Our connection grew from there. We spoke about the LGBTQ community, the black community. What we need to do as passionate leaders. It was about more than just work. It was about, how do we bring other people along for the journey and fight for equality? We’re both authentic change champions trying to do the right thing. Money and business aside, it’s what we believe—we follow that passion. Trust, authenticity and compassion is what makes us successful in business and from a personal standpoint.
MY MIXX WORD: AUTHENTICITY
It was in Las Vegas at the NGLCC national conference when I first met Robyn. We looked at each other’s shoes, our eyes got wide and we began to bond over our love of footwear—it was as if we had known each other for years! We sat next to each other at a session, traded contact information and our relationship has evolved ever since. What I admire about Robyn is that she did not immediately go into “I want to work with you.” She wanted me (as a person) and Accenture (as a corporation) to get to know her company, her brand and her people. This is important because building long-term relationships is what supplier diversity is all about.
MY MIXX WORD: COMMUNITY
The Mixx was already working with my former colleagues at American Express when Robyn and I were introduced. Upon meeting her, I knew that I had to have The Mixx’s expertise on my multicultural strategy work as well. They are the real deal when it comes to connecting brands to culture. Robyn and I share the same priority: LOVE and its POWER. She brings that spirit to her team, work and relationships.

I met Robyn at an event I was throwing and we had an instant connection. She spoke to me about her vision for The Mixx holiday party, and her love for her people and for music. We began working together to find locations for her parties. Every year we meet at the newest venues, and we never compromise on quality. She has trusted me to deliver and has stayed loyal to me for all these years. It’s been such a pleasure to work with her and be part of The Mixx family.
MY MIXX WORDS: VIBRANT LOVE
Creativity is about connecting with other people. It’s also about having the courage to take risks and see your ideas come through from start to finish. Because it’s one thing to have a vision, but it’s another thing to act on it. Creativity can change the world, but it takes a village!
We’re fortunate to work with a myriad of creative talent who always challenge the status quo, dream big and drive us to new heights. They’re the reason we’ve made work that “wows” for over 25 years. Our creative team is our competitive edge, our secret weapon. By consistently pushing the envelope, writing our own rules and never, ever settling, we bring our boldest ambitions to life. And by combining this creativity with heart, we make work that’s memorable and makes a difference in people’s lives.
I moved across the country for this job because of Robyn. Her energy, her passion, her big personality was something I admired. I wanted to be a part of something bigger. Not only did I get to work on some amazing projects, I met lifelong friends. To this day, Robyn has been one of the most influential people in my life.
MY MIXX WORD: ENTHUSIASTIC
We met Robyn Streisand when we were colleagues at Pfizer many years ago and have continued our relationship within WBENC. Robyn and her team bring exceptional energy to every project. They inspire everyone to think and see things differently! We worked with the agency on our ‘CORE’ brochure back in 2012, where the tagline “Join Forces. Succeed Together.” was born. We still use this phrase to this day. It’s iconic, just like The Mixx!
OUR MIXX WORDS: CARING + CREATIVE
I joined The Mixx a few years out of school to work as a project manager on the newly acquired Mercedes-Benz account. My first week there the creative team was presenting concepts internally for an upcoming presentation. At my young age and with little experience I sat at the table fully prepared to write notes and silently observe. I learned very quickly that was not the way of The Mixx. Everyone had a voice and everyone’s opinions were important. Robyn made you feel like part of the team regardless of your title or position — you always mattered and always had something to contribute. It felt like a big Sunday family dinner whenever we all sat down…laughing, yelling, sharing. I grew and learned so much at that table and from the people who sat there.

Pride is so much more than a month-long event — it’s a force that can be found inside every one of us, all year round. For us at The Mixx, Pride is about passion and resilience. It’s what happens when we face adversity head-on and triumph.
Over the past 25 years, we’ve seen the community grow from being that of “possible consideration” for brands to market to, to that of empowerment. It’s been amazing to see, and we’re so proud to unite with our LGBTQIA+ community this month — and every month — to help lead the fight for diversity and inclusion. It’s our goal to ensure the LGBTQIA+ community is represented authentically in everything we do.
I started my journey with The Mixx working in Business Development alongside Robyn Streisand. Over 7.5 years with the company, I built my skills in a truly multi-faceted manner - managing the client relationship from the start of the sales process all the way through project execution. Working directly with clients to understand the barriers they faced, aligning strategy and creative, and ensuring the work we did moved the needle really unlocked my passion for problem solving. The Mixx will always be a place for hard working, creative people to collaborate and do amazing work and I’m so happy to have been a part of it!

After I stepped off stage at AdWeek NYC, speaking about inclusive marketing, a representative of The Mixx made sure we connected because it was apparent we were both speaking the same language. Through the platform we collectively have in the advertising industry, we want to help brands drive growth while simultaneously building a better world. And what better way to do that than by working together to enact positive change!
MY MIXX WORD: SMART
Whether it is work, life, or love – Robyn and The Mixx have always had vision. From developing a new look and feel for my brand 20 years ago that still feels relevant and fresh today, to a 22-year relationship with the love of my life, and raising our two beautiful daughters together, my wife, Robyn, and The Mixx have always taken a stand for what is most important around “doing what’s right” with true heart, passion, and integrity. I simply can’t imagine my life without all of them.

Together with The Mixx, we launched Mercedes-Benz’s first LGBTQIA+ campaign. Six years later, it’s hugely gratifying to look back on the body of work we’ve sculpted together. The Mixx represents a community of collaborative and diverse talent who have given the LGBTQIA+ owners, allies and brand supporters a safe space to be themselves and share the Pride they have for the MB brand. Plus, the authentic people that comprise The Mixx make for a fun and memorable journey to the finish line!

Being a part of The Mixx team was one of the greatest highlights of my career. Starting in client services, I became a partner in growing the agency over 6 years. I remember when we won the Mercedes-Benz account and had to build a team (and furniture) quick! We literally made a run to IKEA and assembled everything overnight! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing people and world-class brands. Great memories!

The Mixx has been such a large part of the NGLCC now for over a decade of their 25 years. Their team— especially Robyn Streisand—has brought so much to the organization we are today. From helping us elevate our brand (during an earthquake in DC no less!) to being a strong leader and champion in the launch and development of our NY chapter, NGLCCNY, we’re so grateful to Robyn and her team for their support. The greatest allies are ones who never give up on you and keep pushing. Why? Because they are invested in you and your future.
In honor of our 25th anniversary, The Mixx is sharing our own success story - shining a spotlight on former and current MIXX employees, clients and colleagues - and how each one of us has played a key role in our success.
I'm one of the original "Mixx chixx" from when Robyn ran the agency out of her apartment in the late '90s. When we first met, I showed up with a purple portfolio and matching long woolen winter coat. Robyn's apartment was painted the same shade. And so began our relationship! It was an incredible union. I was full of creativity but needed some direction and confidence. Robyn was an incredible mentor, pushing me to find my voice and embrace everything I was and am.
MY MIXX WORD: ENERGY
I started my journey with The Mixx in 2001. Yep, that’s right - 20 years ago. I sent in a printed promo piece that got me an interview. I used a pink typeface on sparkle pale pink paper - so not kidding. I was a spunky, overachieving kid who moved to NYC without a job and just wanted to design her heart out. Robyn was my Creative Director, and together we were a force. Now, I’m the Creative Director/Mama Bear that is so proud of where we are, how far we’ve come, and where we are going.

Back in 1996, I was in charge of a major gastrointestinal account, looking for an agency partner to bring it to life.It was my first major creative challenge, and I luckily met a radiant woman, Robyn Streisand, who brought the same level of energy and inspiration. She and The Mixx throughout its early years supported me in developing breakthrough corporate campaigns. My relationship with Robyn and The Mixx has remained a constant in my life and in my career. Wherever I go, I bring her and her staff along for the ride! Here’s to 25 more!

I first connected with The Mixx and one Ms. Robyn Streisand on a tour of a new attraction at one of the most iconic locations in the world, Rockefeller Center. That’s where our creative collaboration journey began! I’d describe our working relationship like going on a great adventure with your best friend. There are moments that are frightening, exhilarating, inspirational and just plain fun. With The Mixx, what’s promised is what’s delivered - great work with amazing results. Mutual trust - it really doesn’t get any better than that!
MY MIXX WORDS: OPEN, INCLUSIVE, FEARLESS + FUN
One of my first big solo projects at J&J was to create an “annual report.” I did my research and brought in The Mixx. They delivered three out-of-the-box design options that blew their competition away -- one was even a pink high heeled shoe on the double yellow lines of a street! It was love at first sight! That was 20 years ago, and I still take Robyn and The Mixx with me wherever I go. They’re the bar for which every agency out there should be measured against.

Meeting Robyn Streisand for the first time is something you never forget. We started working together and the creativity, fun and the energy just flowed. Everyone at The Mixx shares that same positive inspiration and inclusive kindness.
MY MIXX WORD: FUN
Mercedes-Benz dramatically increased our scope with The Mixx in 2008 when we saw an opportunity to increase the quality of a communication product while simultaneously capitalizing on lower cost. Within just a few weeks The Mixx had onboarded a major communication business line for MB’s new passenger cars. Since then, our relationship grew from that of a creative and graphic design firm to a trusted strategic partner. With The Mixx’s guidance and oversight, MB was the first luxury auto brand in LGBTQIA+, and is one of the proudest and best relationships we have with an agency partner.
